1979: An act respecting occupational health and safety
The National Assembly passed the Act Respecting Occupational Health and Safety (AOHS), presented by Minister of State for Social Development Pierre Marois. At the origin of the creation of the IRSST, section 169 of this law stated that “the Government may, upon the recommendation of the Minister, establish a body whose function is research in occupational health and safety.
