Horizontal Lifeline System Design Abstract Since the IRSST’s publication of the guide entitled “Protection against falls from heights – Horizontal lifeline design,” there have been a number of changes to the standards and regulations. A team has updated this guide for fall protection equipment designers by providing a set of graphs which is its primary focus. This update proposes to make available, on an Internet platform, a user-friendly calculation tool integrating the required design parameters for horizontal lifeline systems. The guide will help designers validate their lifeline in the pre-design or design stage, or in situ, to verify certain working hypotheses. In the medium term, it may enable businesses to develop cost-effective expertise by relying on speedier calculations.
