Guide to Best Practices in the Prevention of Problems Related to Office Automation Abstract Prolonged work at a computer is associated with musculoskeletal disorders (MSD), particularly in the neck and the upper limbs. The Québec survey on working, employment and OHS conditions (EQCOTESST) shows an increasing relationship between the numbers of hours worked on the computer and the numbers of workers suffering from MSD.To stimulate the adoption of prevention measures, the IRSST has established a research program focused on office automation, which will result in the creation of a guide to best practices. In cooperation with practitioners and stakeholders in the workplace, this study aims to develop the content of a guide to prevent MSDs in people who work on a computer. The content developed will enable prioritization of the types of interventions possible, preparation of factsheets for various activities, recommendations to be made for conditions and strategies to implement them in the workplace, and the formulation of arguments to convince the various interlocutors involved in the workplace of the importance of preventing MSDs.The guide itself will be produced afterward, in the scope of a knowledge transfer activity.
