Developing and assessing an employer-employee primary prevention approach to offset the effects of emotionally demanding Youth Centre work Abstract Youth Centres are among the sectors in which employees perform emotionally demanding work. These organizations require intervention tools in order to act effectively on this issue and offset the impact on affected employees. The purpose of this project is to implement and subsequently assess an employer-employee preventive intervention to offset the effects of emotionally demanding work on Youth Centre employees. The researchers will develop a profile of risk and protective factors present in the target organization in order to develop an appropriate intervention designed to decrease psychosocial stressors at work and optimize the protective factors. They will then assess the intervention’s implementation process and its effects. The study findings will be useful to organizations in various activity sectors facing the same situation, such as long-term care facilities (CHSLDs), local community service centres (CLSCs) and hospitals.
