Knowledge transfer activity: the safety of plastic injection presses with peripheral equipment Abstract The Québec plastics processing industry employs approximately 25,000 workers in 500 companies. Previous research had identified risks to which these workers are exposed during production and maintenance interventions in the mold area of horizontal plastic injection molding machines with peripheral equipment, such as conveyors, overhead cranes and robots. The report recommends ways to reduce such risks and ensure the safety of workers. This guide is intended to help companies in the plastics processing industry identify and reduce risks associated with plastic injection molding machines with peripheral equipment.
