Workplace substitution of solvents. Process-based approach and updating of the Solub site

Abstract

Solub is a website that proposes a systematic workplace solvent substitution process. It is intended for health and safety professionals who want to carry out an organic solvent substitution project. This substitution process may lead to the implementation of a solution adapted to the user’s workplace. The site also proposes practical tools, relevant resources and concrete examples.

This update project is meant to increase the dissemination of practical information on various processes for which solvent replacement solutions are well documented in order to promote their implementation in more workplaces. This process information will suggest realistic substitution solutions for professionals in the construction, services, metal and fiberglass manufacturing, printing, chemistry and furniture industries.

Better dissemination of such methods will contribute to the replacement of toxic, combustible or inflammable solvents such as dichloromethane, trichlorethylene, petroleum hydrocarbon mixtures, acetone, isopropanol, etc.
