Integration of a sustainable MSD prevention culture in a large manufacturing company: step 1, systemic portrait of the company Abstract It appears that the way to sustainably prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) is to establish a prevention culture in workplaces. Various methods are proving promising in this regard, and it seems that the simultaneous implementation of several of them would promote success. This research project is the first component in a sequence of projects aiming to integrate a culture of sustainable prevention of MSDs in companies. First, a systemic portrait of a large manufacturing company will be developed in order to establish an ergonomic diagnosis. This will lead, in a future project, to the identification of the preventive activities to be implemented and the establishment the methodological bases for the production of two other portraits, namely three months after the intervention, and two years later. It will thus be possible to verify how a multifaceted intervention can achieve a goal of sustainable prevention or not, and if not, to explain why. The knowledge resulting from this study can be transferred to other companies.
