Towards the improvement of end-of-life services and care: A better understanding of the impact of the work environment on nurses’ satisfaction and well-being

Abstract

In the current context of labour shortages and limited access to palliative care, a major challenge arises in making organizational choices that take into account the evolution in the working community, new occupational requirements, as well as the improved management of workplaces and well-being of personnel. The researchers’ primary objective is to improve the conditions in which palliative care is provided by validating a conceptual framework that results in a better understanding of the work satisfaction and well-being of nurses in this field. The results of this study will offer decision-makers a choice of models of services to be favoured and a better understanding of the aspects to be considered before implementing training services or programs for caregivers and managers.
