Improvement in the design of work situations involving forklifts: documentation of the project and method (phase II) Abstract This study will prepare the foundation for phase III of a study to improve the design of work situations involving forklift trucks, which are the cause of many and often very serious accidents. It will also be used to establish a partnership with the Institut national de recherche scientifique (INRS) of France. The collaboration with the INRS will mainly provide an opportunity to produce compared analyses of data to promote the generalization of the results and to establish a common validation protocol for a model of motorized industrial vehicle (MIV). In the end, the study will be used to evaluate the pertinence of some safety devices, develop a stability indicator, and develop the rear steering. It will also contribute to the creation of a pool of experts able to respond to the MIV needs of workplaces.
