Phase 2 OUIE 2000 Noise Analysis and Management Software: Integration of Standard Experimental Measures and Sound Power Abstract Noise remains a major concern because it is responsible for almost 25% of occupational diseases. However, intervention programs are difficult to implement. OUIE2000 software, developed in the context of a previous project, analyzes noise doses and evaluates the effectiveness of acoustical treatments. However, some parameters and data necessary to carry out practical analyses (such as acoustical power of sources) may remain difficult to obtain or determine. This report describes the efforts that were made to facilitate the use of the software, and explains the new functions that have been added to it, namely the generation of experimental noise cards, the integration of an analyzing sound level meter, the experimental evaluation of a source’s acoustical power, and the theoretical evaluation of the acoustical power of common sources of noise.
