Guide to the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries related to repetitive work in the Electrical Products Fabrication sector Abstract Through previous field studies in the metal products and Electrical Products Fabrication sector and a literature review, the IRSST has acquired valuable information on cumulative trauma disorders (CTDs) in this sector, and developed and validated an intervention strategy based on the analysis of dangerous workstations by bipartite groups. To maximize the impact of these projects, the IRSST, in collaboration with the joint sectoral association, produced two guides on the prevention of CTDs. The first is intended to provide industry specialists with basic information the nature, detection, and elimination of CTDs, as well as on their primary risk factors. The second, to be published in 1997, explains the IRSST’s participatory ergonomics strategy, which is based on the creation of bipartite groups and the analysis of workstations.
