National guide on repetitive-movement-induced injuries (RMIs). Phases 1 and 2 Abstract Although repetitive-motion-induced injuries (RMIs) have been identified as a major occupational health concern, they remain poorly documented. To remedy this situation, the IRSST is developing a national guide which will help the working community identify RMIs, and apply appropriate corrective measures. The first phase of the project, conducted in 1990 and 1991, involved the establishment of a reference database which will prove useful to Québec researchers as well as serving as the documentation source for the guide. The second phase of the project was launched in 1991 and 1992 and consists of the organization and analysis of scientific knowledge on the subject. Given the importance of this type of injury, the breadth and depth of available information, and the expertise requirements, an international expert committee will be collaborating on the project. The review itself will be a significant scientific contribution in this area.
