Sabrina Jocelyn / Professional researcher

Eng. (Québec); B.Eng. Electrical Engineering; M.App.Sc. Applied Science; Ph. D. Industrial Engineering

Profile

Sabrina Jocelyn has worked in industrial machine safety at the IRSST since 2008. She started as a research assistant and became a scientific professional in 2014, then a researcher in 2017. She has a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal, and a master’s and Ph.D. from the same school. She is an adjunct professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Université Laval and the Systems Engineering Department at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). Her research interests are safety in collaborative robotics, the use of machine learning algorithms for purposes of accident prevention, quantitative risk assessment, validation of the reliability of safety-related control circuits, and risk management related to machines in general. She is also a member of the ISO/TC 299 committee on the safety of industrial robotics, the ISO/TC 199 committee on the safety of machinery, and the Canadian Robotics Council. The journal Safety Science awarded her a Certificate of Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing in recognition of her contributions to the journal’s quality and the fact that she is in the top ten centiles of reviewers of the most articles for the journal in 2017 and 2018.
