Profile

Laurent Giraud has been a researcher working in the field of machine safety at the IRSST since 2000. His research focuses on machine safety and the relationships between maintenance interventions and employee safety. He has directed and co-directed more than 15 research projects in 15 years and published numerous scientific articles. Mr. Giraud has also authored four guides published jointly with the CSST or a joint sector-based association. His latest research has been on the difference between maintenance and production accidents involving machines and on maintenance work safety in the wind power sector. He has also performed expert assessments of machine safety in the mining and recycling sectors and teaches OHS in Québec universities.
