Intervention guide for the prevention of cumulative trauma disorders Abstract Two IRSST projects in the Electrical Products Fabrication sector, conducted in collaboration with the joint sectoral association of that sector, have resulted in the development and validation of a sector-specific participatory ergonomics programme aimed at preventing cumulative trauma disorders (CTDs). This programme has been implemented in ten companies. To maximize the application of the results of these research projects, the IRSST has produced a simple but detailed guide to CTD prevention in collaboration with the joint sectoral association. This project produced a practical intervention guide designed for companies in this sector interested in implementing a participatory ergonomics programme. The guide contains several questionnaires, reference lists, summary sheets and analytical checklists, and describes workstation analysis procedures, the nature and advantages of "ergo groups", and the limitations of participatory ergonomics. This practical guide could be used by companies in other industrial sectors facing the same problems.
