At its regular meeting on April 18, the board of directors of the Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et en sécurité du travail (IRSST) ratified the president and CEO’s recommendation concerning the appointment of a new representative of the scientific and technical communities to the Institute’s Scientific Advisory Board. The new appointee is founder, president and CEO of InfoVeille Santé, Léonard Aucoin, who was decorated with the title of Knight by the Ordre national du Québec in 2010.
With a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Université de Montréal and a second master’s degree in public health from the University of California, Mr. Aucoin has extensive experience in the health sector. He launched one of the first local community service centres (CLSCs) in Québec and chairs both the Comité d’examen sur la prévention et le contrôle des infections nosocomiales (a Québec review committee on the prevention and control of health-case-associated infections) and the Groupe de travail sur l’évaluation des médicaments anticancéreux (working group on the evaluation of anti-cancer drugs).
On behalf of the members of the IRSST’s Scientific Advisory Board and personnel, president and CEO Marie Larue offered her congratulations to Mr. Aucoin, “a top-calibre candidate whose expertise, mainly in brokering knowledge, will be beneficial in promoting the transfer of OHS research results to workplaces.”
