Cost injuriesWorker Evaluation of Manual Dexterity, Tactile Sensitivity and Comfort

Different glove models were tested by three groups of workers: police officers, garbage collectors and gardeners. Volunteers from each group performed typical work tasks and then filled in a perception questionnaire to give their opinions of the gloves in terms of dexterity, tactile sensitivity and comfort.

Short courses on Human Responses to Vibration

ISVRThree courses will be offered by the University of Southampton to provide an insight into human responses to vibration in specified areas and explore applications of research:

  • Course A - Vehicle ride and seating (2 days)
  • Course B - Whole-body vibration (3 days)
  • Course C - Human Responses to Vibration (4 days)

The courses are ideally suited to engineers, scientists and others seeking a good understanding of human effects of vibration and related regulations. The courses include lectures, laboratory tours and demonstrations.
